I wanted to take some time each week on Fridays to give you all a topic to think about. Something that can help stimulate some different perspectives of thought. You know how everything looks different when you’re upside down? Kinda like that!
So to begin, I wanted to start with something I think can apply to the largest audience possible. With it being the new year, you can’t stray far away from hearing about people’s goals.
And that is great! As a coach, I love to hear that you have your sights set on a real destination.
While you can and should create and recognize different milestones throughout all areas of your life, we’re gonna stick with fitness here for today.
There are 3 simple questions you are going to need to ask
1. What fitness related goals do you have for 2019?
This is always a fun part because you can get to choose what is important to you! So don’t be shy. Bigger muscles? Great! Tone up with less body fat? Awesome! Get off medications? Absolutely! Complete your first marathon or CrossFit competition? Perfect! Pick the thing that is going to make YOU happy.
2. How will you know when you have achieved it?
What metrics are you going to use both along the journey to confirm you are headed towards your goal from Question 1. Is it your weight on the scale? Is it the weight on the barbell? Is it that pair of jeans or suit that you haven't worn in years? What things are important for you to measure your success?
3. What habits or roadblocks are you willing to change or remove to help you improve those metrics from Question 2 so that you can move closer to your goal?
Maybe it's waking up early to workout. Maybe it's cooking and eating at home instead of going out. We all have a few habits we could improve upon that will help us achieve at an optimal level
If you can answer these three questions with certainty, you have a much better chance of creating lasting change.
So what are your answers to those three questions? Once you know, you’re already on the right path towards the ultimate outcome you desire.
Do you need any help determining your 2019 fitness goals? Maybe you already know what you want, but you are not sure how you are going to get there? Regardless of where you are at, if you need help, please don't hesitate to contact me. Have a great weekend!
